What is Website & How a website works

Website A collection of web pages or a single web page under a domain giving information about a person, company or organization is called a website. There are various technologies present nowadays. By using them, we can create websites according to our needs.

The requirement to Create a Website

In the modern age, internet users are increasing daily to cater for those users. We need a website to show companies, services, products or information. To create a website, first, we required three basic things

  1. Domain Name
  2. Web Hosting
  3. SSL Certificate

Domain Name:

The domain name is the address of your website. You have the domain xyz.com for the example, and it’s your domain name. The domain name is the IP address, and it’s connected to the server where your website’s data is stored. The domain name is Alphanumeric, but DNS changed this to text form, and we get the name of the website, for example, amolology.com

Web Hosting:

Every website has some data. To store the data, we need space connected to the internet to host our website, called web hosting. There are various types of web hosting available. Even you can convert your personal computer into a server and use it to host your website. But it needs lots of technical expertise.

SSL Certificate:

An SSL stands for secure sockets layer. A security protocol creates an encrypted link between the Browser and the server. 4-5 years back, there was no need for this certificate, and the website opened with http on the web browser. Now it’s almost compulsory to get an SSL for your website.

How a website works

When we put the website address into the Browser, we require a web browser to access any website. The Browser sends a request to DNS, which converts the website name to ip and sends it to the server. The server finds the relevant content and displays it to the Browser, and your website appears on the Browser.

Summarizing
